SMALL ACTIONS FOR BIG CHANGE
Our actions caused this, so only our actions can undo it.
OUR CLIMATE IS CHANGING
Our environment is changing now more than ever and the evidence is
startling.
Nineteen out of the twenty hottest years in history have occured since
2001.
The sea level is raising at an average of 3.3 millimeters per year,
rising seven inches just in the last hundred years.
The september arctic ice is decling at an average of 12.85 percent per
decade.

WHAT CAUSED THIS
Climate changes are normal. The temperature of the earth fluctuates, but
there has never been global warming to this extent before the mid 20th
century.
Greenhouse gases generated by burning fossil fuels
Deforestation
Fertlizer use
Livestock production
Exessive landfill
Use and production of plastic

EFFECTS ON HUMANS & WILDLIFE
HUMANS
Increase in potential deaths from cold or heat ( heat cramps, heat
exhaustion, heatstroke, and hyperthermia in heat & hypothermia and
frostbite in the cold
Increased allergic responses and asthma episodes
Extreme natural disasters
Lower levels of necessary minerals and vitamins in food from increased
concentrations of carbon dioxide
WILDLIFE
Exinction of animals
Biodiversity at risk
Habitat destruction (e.g. Polar bears face possible extinction due to
the depletion of their sea ice habitat)
Increased growth of toxic and invasive plants and insects
