MAKE A CHANGE
Climate change has been a result of a series of human actions and only
our actions can help to reverse the effects. It may be a big problem,
but its caused by a series of small actions. By taking on regular
tasks to help our environemnet, we can help limit the advancement of
climate change and global warming. In the end, it's our world and we
need to work to save it.
USING LESS SINGLE USE PLASTICS AND RECYCLING
The production and combustion of plastics contribute to a significant
percentage of the air and water pollution. When plastics are thrown
out and sent to landfills, they emit greenhouse gases harmful to the
atmosphere and environment. By using less single use plastics we
reduce this emission and reduce our
carbon footprint.
Examples of single use plastics are plastic bags, disposable utensils,
plastic bottles, plastic wrap, and straws. One way to reduce your use
of plastics is to switch from plastic wrap to beeswax wrap. Its
reuable and just as useful.
Another way to combat excessive plastic use is recycling. By recycling
everything from plastic to paper to glass, this will reduce the
production of new plastics, as well as deforestation for paper. This
reduces the greenhouse gases produced by plastics when thrown into
landfills, and prevents more plastic items from being produced. (LEARN

COMPOSTING
When you throw out food scraps and compostable materials, they are
transfered to landfills, where they produce methane released into our
atmosphere and contribute to global warming. Landfill gas is
approximately
50 percent methane, which is 28 to 36 times more potent than carbon
dioxide.
By composting, you reduce the methane emissions and contribute to more
effective energy production, whether it's disposing of compost in your
a local compost bin or in your own and using it for your garden. Some
cities may also give out compost bins for city compost collection.
